Almost without fail, whenever I have a video conference call on Skype or Zoom, or host a LIVE Broadcast on my YouTube Channel, folks comment about the quality of my video / webcam.
I’ve purchased quite a few webcams over the past few years but despite their write-ups I’ve never rated their quality. Because of this I ended up purchasing the Elgato CamLink which couldn’t be simpler to use; simply plug a HDMI lead from your camera into the CamLink and then plug the USB end of the CamLink into your computer, and you’re good to go. No need to install software or drives … it just works straight out of the box!
I use my Sony A6500 with the CamLink which has superb facial tracking so the picture is always pin sharp but with the great depth of field whereby everything behind me is out of focus as I set it to an Aperture of f/4.0.
Highly Recommended if you do any LIVE Streaming, Video Conference Calls OR record your own videos for uploading.
Priced at around £120, check out the Elgato CamLink using this LINK
Note: Despite having a pretty fast broadband speed (360Mb download and 180Mb upload) it works best when not in 4K but at the regular 1920 x 1080 HD
