Just to let you know that Episode 5 of the HE SHOOTS, HE DRAWS Podcast with myself and my Best Mate, Dave Clayton is now online!

This week we talk about getting out of a Creative Slump, keeping busy and stopping making excuses! We all hit a slump and we all get excited by our industry, use the latter to thwart the former and keep busy! Set up projects for yourself, try and recreate other artists’ styles to learn techniques while you are waiting for the phone to ring. An empty portfolio will equate to an empty diary and vice versa.

You can check it out on all good Podcast-y places including iTunes; leave us a rating and review for a chance to win a Photography Book title from publishers, Rocky Nook!

  1. Hi Glyn. Just a comment concerning what you said about “making a photograph”. One of the greatest of all times, Ansel Adams, said just that. “You don’t take a photograph, you make it.” Ansel Adams. He went on to say, “โ€œYou don’t make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.โ€ Personally I think your ROSA tutorial is the perfect example of “making a photograph”. I really think you should rethink that statement. LOL.

  2. Author

Ah but Steve just because Ansel Adams said it doesn’t mean I must think any different towards it.
I’m referring to it when people go out with their camera and not the retouching process. To say “I’m going out to make some pictures” still sounds a bit arty farty to me ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Just because one person makes a statement or quote in this case the great Ansel Adams (and he is a great too) doesn’t make it gospel.
It’s Ansel Adams philosophy on photography in general i think…
He could of said it totally different way and meant the same?
