Super proud to announce on Tueaday of this week, Westcott announced that I was now one of their Top Pros!
So incredibly happy to join the ranks of other Westcott Top Pros, Photographers and friends such as Joel Grimes and Peter Hurley and to let you know this because this is something I’ve been aiming for, for a number of years now. When my first book, The Photoshop Workbook was published, I made it my goal to work hard on my lighting and developing my photographic style. As I see it, and when I say this I’m talking about my own journey, for longevity I’ve always felt that I needed to be known for my Photography first and then my Photoshop work so to have been on Westcott’s Radar and now be one of their Top Pros feels fantastic; as it does when we in some way achieve any of the goals we set ourselves.
Anyone who knows me and has followed my work for some time will know that I’m someone who is very careful about the companies I work with and am also very loyal. So often I see some folks one week saying they use a particular brand and the next week saying they use another; clearly because their pockets have been lined an the brand has given them a bunch of freebies. With Westcott, as it is with other brands I use, I have purchased items myself way before a relationship started; BenQ, TetherTools and Elinchrom being such examples. This is incredibly important to me because it builds trust; trust that what I recommend is genuine because I have used it and continue to use it. To gain trust takes a lot of time but to lose it takes just a moment. Does this make sense?
Anyway, HUGE thanks to the folks at Westcott for this announcement. I cannot wait to see what the future brings.
